The NSW Government has announced the amount available to landlords under the Residential Tenancy Support Payment has doubled from $1,500 to $3,000. This means landlords who reduce rent for an eligible COVID-19 impacted tenant can claim up to $3,000 for reduced rent.
Landlords who have already claimed up to $1,500 can make a further application to a total of $3,000 or the amount of reduced rent, whichever is lower. Any new claims can be made for up to $3,000.
Applications will open from Friday, 27 August 2021 for a second payment of $1,500 or a new application for over $1,500. If you have already lodged your second application it will be held and processed from 27 August. Visit for more information on the payment and assistance.
